February is Pet Dental Health Month!!
Come in for a FREE trial of Plaq Clnz with your groom or bath.
Pre-treatment spray is administered.  After 30 minutes, dog's teeth are cleaned with a water pick.  Then a post treatment gel is used on dog's teeth.  Purchase a gel to take home and put on your dog's teeth everyday to clean teeth and soften plaque and tartar.

Untreated dental problems can lead to bad breath and can spread to the heart, kidneys and other organs.  Daily brushing or dental treatment is important to your dog's health.  You will save money and possibly add time to your dog's life by preventing dental problems.  Gums should be pink, not red or white and there shouldn't be any brown tartar/plaque on your dog's teeth.  If there is, they should be treated at the vet.

The Most Popular Dog in America Is...

The American Kennel Club announced that the Labrador Retriever is the most popular dog in America for the 23rd year in a row.  It is followed by the German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, Beagle, and the Bulldog.  Labs are family friendly and working dogs.  They have a short, easy coat, are intelligent, and have lots of energy.

Reverse Sneezing

Reverse Sneezing
I have talked to some pet parents recently that wonder about a cough their dog gets when they get excited.  It is a gag reflex known as reverse sneezing.  She is forcefully inhaling to bring in air in through the nose and move mucus into the pharynx or throat.  It can be caused by pulling on a leash, excitement, allergies, eating, or exercise intolerance.  Some of the dogs do it when their parents' arrive.  My Belle does it when I give her a bath.  There is no reason to be concerned, unless or dog has a consistent cough.
